50+ Seniors

The Seniors program is for adults aged 50 years and up, autonomous, retired or available during the program hours (9:00 am-2:30 pm). The majority of our 160 members are English speaking seniors from Verdun and the surrounding area. Services are bilingual. The membership card is $15.00 and is valid for twelve months.           See schedule: 

Open-Gym is for cardio, toning and stretching. Tai-Chi is for flexibility,balance and relaxation. Badminton is for the challenge. Also, join the walk club… The Riverside Ramblers, walking together for fitness and fun. Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:00 to 11:30 am. Year-round – wheather permiting.
Reading and Discussion Group, with two discussion leaders of the Thomas More Institute. A Quilting group. We also have occasional conferences and talks with local specialists. For our computer classes, we often have a student or a volunteer to give a hand during individual workshops. Give a call for an appointment.
Dawson café (home-made snack bar), bingo, sandbags, darts, card group, games in the park, walking excursions and one-day bus trips.
Foot Care Clinic by appointment, with a certified and experienced technician, Tax Clinic with volunteers (March and April, by appointments taken in February).
We are seeking help in the Snack Bar making soups and baking pastries and muffins once a week or every two weeks from September to May.
